Unraveling Love

Saskia: October 1990 - April 21, 2009

soul sister & eternal teacher

Would it be too much to ask of myself to live every day in appreciation of the never ending flow of love you offered through every caress, lick, and meow? May I make my every intent in the world as pure as your infinite knowing. And may you forever delight in chasing after bumbling bees, skittering chipmunks, chattering squirrels, and soaring birds...

blowing a kiss to wherever you are in this moment...
xoxo

  4. It is so sad when you lose a family member - one of our cats passed away a few months ago, so I know the sadness you must be feeling. I hope she lived a long and happy life with you, and that she's found a happy place in kitty heaven!

  5. Oh, I'm so sorry for your loss. How hard it is to lose a furry child. I lost my two 19 year-old girls last year and it was such an empty year. In December, I got a new baby and he is just a joy and has brought such laughter and love back into my life. But it took me a full year of grieving over one of my cats, in particular, before I could get another one. I know the pain you are feeling and I pray you find comfort through your tears and in your memories.

  10. Many tears of thanks that I have the opportunity to connect with you all over the love of an animal's spirit :)

I definitely needed your group hug, so your warmth and generosity was much appreciated!

  11. ::HUG:: virtual hug - Beth, I lost my tuxedo cat Stella and have never been able to bring myself to replace her, I hope you will be braver than I am if you have the desire to give another spirit a home in your life, we always know they are temporary, as is everything, but their time is so short compared to ours - I wish you healing and love.

  13. Lynn, gosh I'm beginning to understand the hardship people feel around the question of replacing friends like Stella and Saskia. I'm taking solace in our surviving cat Hugo :)

Catherine, thanks so much for offering your support :)

  14. Beth,

I was so sorry to read about your dear kitty Saskia...give Hugo an extra hug from me.

One of my favorite sayings is:
Until you have loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened.

    How true, how very true.

    Sincerely,
    Ashli

  16. Thank you for sending me warm thoughts, Ashli and Erin :) Each sentiment is like a warm breeze on my heart.

I am totally unfamiliar with this saying you shared, Ashli, and I'm tucking it away to give me solace. I'm in deep gratitude for you sharing it with me.
