My Shangri-La: Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe, Beth Hemmila

I've lived in Reno for five months and hadn't made it up to Lake Tahoe once. That all changed last weekend when it was sunny and in the 60s. I couldn't have asked for anything more splendid to kick off March. From the clear blue water that was like glass to the smell of the pine trees, it was a feast for the senses.

  3. Thanks for sharing Beth. I love these views! They give me such a warm feeling. My husband's parents have a home in Lake Tahoe on the Western shore above Emerald Bay. We try to go every summer and now want to go more in late winter as the kids are getting old enough to both ski. I just love the feel I get when I look out over that lake, with the snow topped mountains and the sun shining into the crystal clear water. So serene. Northern VA seems a world away.
