The universe is a vast net of energy rays.
The primary ray is that which emanates from the

An individual who is not yet fully evolved can be

- Brian Walker, Hua Hu Ching: The Unknown Teachings of Lao Tzu
Lao Tzu was a Chinese philosopher who lived during the 6th century BCE
I've been reading Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching on and off for about 20 years. It's my favorite book. It's one of those items I'd put in my backpack to take to a desert island. I would have a hard time parting with it because it's an infinite source of wisdom and comfort. However, this little book called Hua Hu Ching: The Unknown Teachings of Lao Tzu that I picked up at used bookstore several years ago, has been slowly blowing my mind.
It's equal in its beauty and simplicity, but for some reason feels more clear in its teaching of the Tao. It doesn't beat around the bush with mend bending puzzles but rather lays out clearly what practices you need to adopt. I'd describe it as the how-to guide for understanding oneness, which sounds easy but slips through my mind pretty rapidly.
This is one of my favorite passages above. It's so practical. Ignore negative influences and cultivate positive energy in your life by seeing everything as oneness (Integral Way). This is knowledge from the 6th century BCE, but we still struggle with it!
