God's Trust Fall

By Beth Hemmila

Sometimes God leaves the room.
Sometimes She takes the training wheels off your bike
so you can see you're a natural.
You've nailed this love thing.
"Trust fall into this," She shouts.
Fluttering, shifting, suspended...your wings unfurl
and you float on heaven's dust --
a bliss that shutters like a wave beating the shore
in a song with no vanishing point.

At some point you may feel like all support has abandoned you, but it's just the Divine teaching you, asking you to remember the ultimate truth -- love never leaves. It's always there, carrying you.

  1. and isn't it funny, how we can fail to realize that even though she might remove the training wheels, she never takes away the safety net -
