Alchemy takes the marriage of opposites and transforms them through fire. This experience is the essence of loving another human being.

Opening tomorrow is the movie Catching Fire from The Hunger Games trilogy. A wonderful fantasy ride through a futuristic world that spins the story of love, survival, and hope.

Featured in the movie Catching Fire is this amazing wedding dress worn by the main character Katniss.

Designed to go up in flames and transform into a mockingjay, a bird that symbolizes the spirit of the people's revolution, I thought this wedding dress was the perfect metaphor for the Alchemy of Love.

Through the union of opposites and the fire ignited by relationship we often turn ourselves into something more powerful than if we had remained separate.

To see how this wedding dress transforms, watch this trailer at around 2:10.

I was inspired by the transformation of this wedding dress in Catching Fire to design a necklace I call Alchemy of Love, using white pearl, red garnet, and black tourmaline.

Throughout our lives we are both drawn to fire and also encouraged to fear it; however, have you ever noticed that when things get "heated up" in your life you are entering an exciting moment of change? This Alchemy of Love necklace embraces these moments of fire and transformation, acknowledging that they are a natural part of your beauty.
